samsung galaxy s23 ultra

After the release of the galaxy s23 ultra in February, I have been utilizing this device, and I must express my admiration for it. However, does this imply that it is without any imperfections? No, but it does come a lot closer than any phone I've ever used. You know, there aren't many changes with the s23 ultra, so theoretically, you might refer to it as an iterative update.

When you really start using the phone, you see that this isn't simply an annual update but possibly the biggest upgrade the ultra phone has received in recent years. I mean, the design is the same and even the inside components are the regular year-over-year upgrades.

Let's start with what I absolutely love about this phone. The biggest surprise this phone offers is the battery life. As an Android user, I'll admit it - I used to be low-key envious of  apple users and the amazing battery life they get with their iPhones.

When I got the  iphone 14 pro last year, I was surprised that I was getting more than 2 days of battery life whereas it was just a little more than a day on my S22 Ultra at the time. Although I'm not a huge fan of Apple the fact was Apple was in its own league when it came to battery life. That however changed with the s23 ultra.

Not only it's way better than the s22 ultrabut it's on par with the iphone 14 pro.

Earlier whenever I used to go out for a full day I used to be very cautious with how I used the phone especially when I knew that I wouldn't get to charge the phone in the middle but with the s23 ultra, I don't care because I know, no matter how heavily I use it, it's going to last me an entire day and that makes a world of difference. By the way, if you want me to make a tutorial on how to make your phone look like this, plus if you want the wallpapers that I use for free,  just let me know by hitting the like button. I'll make the video once it crosses 3000 likes.

The second big upgrade this phone offers is with the performance and overall fluidity.

Phones these days have gotten so much better that it's hard to tell the difference,

especially in performance but you can actually feel the difference with this phone.

It can handle anything you throw at it and it doesn't stutter at all. Speaking of stuttering Twitter used to stutter quite a lot on the s22 ultra but not on this phone. And it's not just Twitter,  you take any app and this phone handles it with ease while giving you the best experience.

Another great thing about this phone is the thermals. I don't even remember when's the last time this phone got hot. You see I'm not a mobile gamer, I prefer to play games on PC  instead but I do occasional gaming on the phone and this phone just doesn't get hot.

Of course,  if you push it to its extreme it will but it remains significantly cooler than the s22 ultra and even the iphone 14 pro. Samsung just nailed it with the thermals on this phone.

In case you don't know, the Samsung Discover sale is going on right now and the company is offering up to a whopping 81% off on the s23 ultra. There are other crazy offers too. If you are interested the link to the offer is in the description.

Coming back to the phone, outdoor viewing is not a problem at all because of the crazy brightness. Even though on paper it's not as bright as the latest iPhone honestly, in real life, you can't even tell the difference.

The colors and contrast were on point. There's nothing you can complain about the display and it's a visual treat to watch content on this display. By the way, here's an interesting thing that happened to me with this phone. I accidentally tested the durability of the phone.

You see the  s23 ultra has the latest gorilla glass Victus 2 protection that offers twice the shatter resistance as last year. One day as I was getting out of my car, the phone slipped out of my pocket and dropped face up on the road. And surprisingly the phone survived. There wasn't a single scratch on the glass nor there was any dent on the frame.

But when I flipped the phone over I saw that one of the camera lens broke. Not only the camera ring took quite a beating but there was a hairline crack on the periscope zoom lens. Surprisingly it didn't affect the quality of images with  the lens but yeah doesn't matter how strong the glass is It's always safer to invest in a case

because glass is glass and glass breaks.

Speaking of camera it's another big upgrade  this phone offers. On paper, Samsung has only upgraded the main camera to 200MP while keeping everything else the same but this phone offers a significant upgrade with every camera thanks to great optimization and a better ISP.

There's no bad photo you can take with this phone. The photos coming out of this phone look absolutely amazing. And that holds true for video as well. It produces

bright, vibrant videos that look pleasing to the eyes.

The S23 Ultra produces warmer colors and it's a bit sharper whereas the iphone 14 pro is cooler and is not as sharp. Personally, I still think the iphone 14 pro takes slightly better videos and what's weird is that you only notice the difference after you export the video to PC.

On phones side by side, the video from the S23 Ultra was looking so much better.

Now coming to things I didn't like. First the color. I don't know what I was thinking when  I picked this color. It's too bright and it only looks good in the video. In real life,

it's way too bright and not my type. I'll never buy bright color phones ever again.

The second is thickness.

It feels a little bulkier in hand compared to the s22 ultra even though they both have the same thickness and that has to do with the frame and the display curve.

They made the side frame thicker while making the display curve less aggressive. I'm a huge fan of curved displays so I didn't like what they did here but the upside is the phone feels solid in the hand.

It doesn't feel like it's going to slip which I felt sometime with the s22 ultra.

Another thing Samsung needs to improve is the charging speed.

Although 45W is not bad, it is not even close to the competition. Does it make a difference?

No, however, I believe that in the future, Samsung phones should at the very least support 65W charging. In conclusion, the s23 ultra is a fantastic phone! Although it's not flawless, this is the closest phone available to date.

google pixel 8 pro

google pixel 8 pro

 This is Google's top-tier phone of 2023

The pixel 8 pro what's new here and could this be the flagship you should be

looking out for I'm will for GSM Marina and let's find out in our pixel 8 pro

Review the Google pixel phones are quite

Design and build well known for their stock andro software experience powerful cameras and AI-based features the new pixel 8 pro brings some nice updates including a new super actua display an improved chipset and extended software support the camera system has been revamped too with some new lenses and a new Ultra wide cam design-wise the biggest change is that the pixel 8 pro's display is flat not curved either type of screen may have its advantages but many prefer a flat one that's more immune to Accidental touches.

Besides that, the design is similar to the previous generation with an aluminum frame and glass bag featuring a visor-like camera bump the back has a matte finish and the visor and frame are glossy on the pro model that's the inverse of what you get on the vanilla.

Pixel 8 with its glossy back and matte  frame the pixel 8 Pro has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protecting both the front and back as well as ip68-rated dust and

Water resistance like I mentioned Google calls Screen specs and features.

The 8 Pro new screen is a super actual display it's a 6.7 lipo OLED with a 120 HZ refresh rate with a pixel density of 489 PPI this display is quite sharp and compared to last year Google has trimmed down the bezels here the colors can be quite accurate as well and their support for HDR 10 plus video the pixel 8 pro's display brightness is impressive we maxed out at around 950 nits with a manual slider and this boosted to 1,600 nits in auto mode when exposed to Bright Light that's even better than the vanilla model which is also one of the brightest phones around this displays refresh rate is quite  adaptive to save energy you get that smooth 120 has when interacting with the phone and swiping and it will dial down as low as 1 Herz when idling the pixel 8 pro has a pair of

Stereo speakers.

Stereo speakers have good loudness the sound quality is great as well

balanced with some base clear vocals and nice treble you can hear for

yourself with the provided link the Under-display fingerprint reader.

pixel 8 pro has an under-display fingerprint reader for Biometrics and it seems even faster and more accurate than last year's and there is plenty of storage.

Storage options

Options 128 256 or 512 gigs or a whole terabyte on board that's not expandable through micro SD through the Google

Android 14 and UI

Pixels are the first phones to come out with the new Android 14 out of the box

and here you get the pure Android experience exactly as Google intended cosmetically Android 14 is the same.

But it brings some new features like a more customizable lock screen you can also create your own unique wallpapers with plenty of styles words and colors to

work with in addition to a regional language Android 14 gives you the option to choose a different measurement system and date format Android 14 also supports 10bit

HDR images and lossless audio with wired headphones and privacy have been improved for example when sending images to someone the app will have access to your whole Gallery like before now let's talk AI-based features about the pixel's own AI-based features keep in mind that some of these are region specific and won't work.

Everywhere the live translate feature is even faster now its interpreter mode can

translate a conversation in real time between two people if that language is supported by the call screening feature.

where the Google Assistant can take a call for you or transcribe rooc call options is also better and faster this year thanks to the pixels AI you can easily extract text from apps or even images there's a new more powerful magic

editor within the photos app it offers.

Advanced functions like removing objects from the photo and changing the sky a feature unique to the pixel 8 Pro Build-in thermometer (sensor) is a thermometer thanks to a new temperature sensor located next to the cameras it doesn't do much at the moment because it's not very accurate to begin

but maybe we'll see new uses for it down the line and last but definitely not least.

Google promises both OS and security updates for the next 7 years on the new

pixels that's more than any other.

Google Tensor G3 performance manufacturer the Pixel 8 Pro comes with Google's 4 nanom tensor G3 chipset just like you get on the vanilla Pixel 8

compared to the previous tensor chip there's a new graphics processor a new

ISP and a new TPU that handles the AI-related tasks in benchmarks the pixel 8 Pro was clearly more powerful than last year's model both in CPU and Graphics

tasks and as you'd expect the numbers are about the same as on the regular pixel 8 these numbers are far from class leading though competitors running on a Snapdragon hn2 handily outperform the pixels which are more on par with last year's flagships the pixel 8 Pro brings more than enough power for your everyday use.

But if you're looking for a phone optimized for heavy gaming this may not

be the best choice this point is driven home even.

Thermals chart further when looking at the phone's lackluster thermal management there was significant thermal throttling during our prolonged stress test with plenty of dips and spikes even the compact vanilla model did a better job here the pixel 8.

Battery endurance and charging test Pro has a 5,50 mAh battery and the

battery life here is okay but falls behind its relevant competitors with an overall endurance rating of just 90 hours the charging speed also isn't very exciting with Google's official 30 W charger we were able to top up the pixel8 pro from 0 to 53% in half an hour a full charge took an hour and 23 minutes there's also support for wireless charging.

Now we have the camera there's Camera specs a 50 map main cam a 48 map 5 times telephoto zoom and a 48 map Ultra-wide camera there are a few upgrades here both the main Cam and telephoto cam have new lenses with wider apertures and the ultra-wide is all new because of pixel Main camera: photo and video quality binning the main cam produces 12.5 megap photos and they're excellent there's a lot of detail and while there is some extra sharpening the rendition is still more pleasant than many arrivals the look is overall contrasty with slightly.

Dark Shadows and you get a Dependable white balance and likable colour

saturation unlike the Pixel 8 the 8 Pro allows you to take photos at the camera's full 50 mega resolution these shots can come out with some extra

detail at the expense of a larger file.

size there's a two-times digital zoom on the viewfinder and these are pretty

decent intricate details like foliage may come out a bit soft but in general

the scenes look pretty good portraits come out at two times Zoom by default with good lighting you get a sharp detailed subject The Edge detection isn't infallible

though in low light conditions, the main cam takes excellent photos with the help of night mode processing they have a very nicely balanced exposure with well

preserved highlights and just the right amount of boost in the shadows the

colors are well saturated and the white balance is Dependable detail is

generally very good though the pixel's noise reduction would sometimes wipe out

the detail in certain textures like asphalt if you disable night mode darker scenes may come out underexposed better lit scenes won't be as bad without a big

difference compared to the night mode shots of 4K videos from the main camera

look great with plenty of detail and nice dynamic range and color saturation video stabilization is very good at smoothing out the footage too at night the main cam captures good detail in his videos and there's a wide dynamic range and nice color saturation.

5X zoom camera: photo and video quality next we have the five times telephoto

Zoom is one of the main advantages the Ed Pro has over the vanilla model these

zoomed shots are nicely sharp with great detail and definition the new Optics

appear to make a nice improvement over last year's 7 Pro the telephoto cam

doesn't mind shooting in darkness and with night mode active the shots come

out great with low noise and nice tonal development the five times telephoto

produces excellent footage with nice  detail great colors good exposure and

wide dynamic range.

Ultrawide camera:   photo and video quality the upgraded Ultra wide on the Pixel 8 Pro captures excellent photos the detail is great sharpness is preserved almost all the way to the extreme Corners dynamic range and colours are

also good since the ultra-wide has autofocus you can use it to take

close-ups and macro shots look great even sharper and more detailed

than what the vanilla models Ultra wide can manage in low light with a night

mode active the ultra-wide does a good job the highlights are decently

contained Shadows are boosted and colors are well saturated again clearly better than the vanilla model here when it comes to video recording through the

ultra-wide is a mixed bag the detail level is excellent and the dynamic range

is respectable the white balance is clearly off though resulting in an overly warm and yellowish tint.

Selfies are taken with the 10.5 mega front-facing cam which has autofocus

there are two Zoom levels and the phone defaults to the more zoomed-in on the

Selfies have good detail and nice-looking skin tones

Conclusion.

So that's the Pixel 8 Pro it brings a bunch of changes over the previous model

including the flat and extra bright display the new chipset and improvements in the camera's 7 years of software support are really great to have too and

there's a thermometer unfortunately the 8 Pro does fall short of competitors

when it comes to the battery life and his chipset performance also falls behind both when it comes to Raw numbers  as well as thermal management still if

you can swallow those shortcomings.

Otherwise the Pixel 8 Pro is a great Flagship camera phone that has a lot to

offer thanks for watching guys if you're Alternatives and selfie video quality
